Chickadee, Tit, Titmouse, Lark, Bulbul, Greenbul, Brownbul, Wren, Nuthatch, Kinglet, Gnatcatcher
In Old English the tit was called a titmouse, or small bird. In the New World, similar species were named chickadees for their call.
This Old World family is found across Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
Wrens are small compact birds with a tail that is cocked upward.
Nuthatches are found across the Old and New Worlds. They are named for their habit of wedging nuts in tree crevices and pecking them open.
Larks are known for their sweet, beautiful songs. They occur on all continents except Antarctica.
