Xian

Our overnight train from Beijing pulled in to Xian early in the morning.  The city walls rose out of the mist as we entered the city.  This was the capital of eleven dynasties, a major trading hub on the Silk Road and the keeper of a marvelous secret.

One of our first visits was to the Shaanxi History Museum where we met a Tang Dynasty beauty--all plump cheeks and big feet.
