    This is a hands-on photography class designed to help you take advantage of more features of your digital camera. We will learn about the camera controls and work on overcoming common problems. Come get to know your camera better and improve your photography.

    Each participant should bring their digital camera, charged batteries, a camera memory card, and the camera manual (if available).

    Do you only use the automatic mode on your DSLR or mirrorless camera? If you would like to know more about your camera functions, please join us for this class. You may be surprised at what your camera can do.

    Each participant should bring their DSLR or mirrorless digital camera, charged batteries, a camera memory card, and the camera manual (if available).

    Editing Digital Photographs—Adobe Photoshop Elements

    Learn to edit your images on the computer using Adobe Photoshop Elements (the home version of Adobe Photoshop). We will cover the basics of cropping, correcting exposure, straightening the picture, capturing and moving parts of the picture, combining several pictures, and other image editing skills.

    If you have a laptop computer, bring it to class.

    Do you have a bag of throw beads left over from Mardi Gras? Come learn how to turn them into glittering holiday decorations, bowls, garlands, jewelry and tiny animals.

    It can be challenging to get good pictures when your subjects won't hold still or are hidden deep in a tree. Here are some hints on photographing the beautiful birds of the Alabama Gulf Coast.

    Exposure and focus are key elements in digital photography. In this class we will explore the following questions: How does shutter speed affect the image? How can I determine what will be in focus? What is the best lighting for my photographs?

    Exposure is the SCIENCE of photography.

    Each participant should bring their digital camera, charged batteries, a camera memory card, and the camera manual (if available).
