Naxos Town (Chora or Hora--Greek maps have several different names for the same location.) is the main harbor.

Naxos Port is bordered by a paved pedestrian waterfront with a long line of canopied ouzeries, cafes, tavernas, grills, shops, banks, tour offices and stores.  The Old Market Town is farther up the hillside, with a labyrinth of narrow lanes and arches.

The most picturesque part of the old town is on the hillside surrounding the 13th century Venetian Kastro (castle).  The maze of narrow alleys hides many grand mansions built by the Venetian aristocracy in the 13th century.
