The best beaches on the island are on the southwest side.  Alyko Beach, the beautiful empty beach nearest to our villa, is bordered by dunes covered with clusters of cedar trees.

Plaka Beach is much busier.  We all found plenty to keep us occupied--diving on old shipwrecks, learning to parasail, racing around on a banana boat. or just sitting in the sun sipping a beer.
Sandy beaches are scarce on many of the Cyclade Islands.  Near Naxos Town people take advantage of the rocky shore to enjoy the Aegean.
