We were up before the sun to don our wetsuits and go in search of the manatees.  The natural springs that feed the Homosassa River stay in the upper 70s year round.  The colder the weather, the more manatees you will find sheltering from the cold.  The manatees are huge but they move with such stately calm that I soon forgot to be nervous.
