Winter Class Schedule - 2010

This is a hands-on class designed to give you the necessary information and skill needed to understand and become proficient with your digital camera.  We will learn about the camera controls and work on overcoming common problems such as shutter lag and blurred images.

Each participant should bring a digital camera, charged batteries, a camera memory card, and the camera manual (if available).

In this class we apply the elements and principles of design to emphasize the photograph's subject.  Learn how to add interest and drama to your digital pictures.

Photo Composition is the ART of photography.

In this class we will explore the following questions:  How does shutter speed effect the image?  How can I determine what will be in focus?  What is the best lighting for my photographs?

Capturing Light and Motion is the SCIENCE of photography.

In this class we will cover the following topics:  downloading digital photos to the computer, organizing and renaming pictures, enhancing pictures with image editing software and sharing your photographs as email attachments, slideshows, prints, photo books and in online galleries.

Do you have a bag of throw beads left over from Mardi Gras?  Come learn how to turn them into holiday decorations, jewelry and tiny animals.

Bring your own beads.
