Galapagos Land Iguana

Galapagos Land Iguanas are descended from the green iguanas of South America and the Caribbean. They probably rode to the Galapagos Islands on rafts of vegetation.

Two species have been identified: yellow-orange in color (conolophus subcristatus) is found on Santa Cruz, North Seymour, Plaza, Isabela and Fernandina; whitish to brown (conolophus pallidus) comes from Santa Fe.
