Chebika

Chébika, Tameghza and Midès are ancient Berber villages set in stunning mountain gorges of the rugged Jebel en-Negeb range and boasting histories going back to ancient Roman times. They were all abandoned after the region was hit by 38 days of torrential rain in 1969. This deluge turned the earthen houses into mud and the villages had to move to new settlements nearby.
