Jokhang Temple

Thousands of yak butter candles flicker inside the thirteen hundred year old Jokhang Temple.  It is Yogurt Festival and pilgrims are making clockwise circuits around the building spinning prayer wheels or on their hands and knees. Others offer free yak butter tea to all.

Monks may be male or female.  I think this may be a mother monk.
