| The Hmong live in houses of mud, wattle, bamboo, and thatch, surrounded by vats of indigo which is used to dye their clothing.
They are the largest minority group in the area and represent about 50% of Sapa's population. They are of Chinese origin and are thought to have immigrated to Vietnam at the end of the 18th century. |
