Wat Phnom, Phnom Penh

Wat Phnom is the oldest temple in Phnom Penh.  Legend has it that a 14th century widow found four statues of Buddha washed up on the riverbank.  Now her temple sits on a hill overlooking the city.

It was crowded when we visited on New Year's Eve.  People were buying and releasing birds and leaving offerings for luck for the coming year.
