Pisac Inca Ruins

Archaeologists think the fortress was built to defend the Incas from the fierce Antis (jungle people). The terraces and irrigation systems support the theory that it was a refuge in times of siege.  This is the location of the largest know Inca cemetery.  The dead were buried in tombs high on the cliff sides.
