Weaving traditions in Peru date back to pre-Columbian civilizations, and continue to be of great importance for Andean communities as a symbol of cultural identity and pride.  Using back-strap looms; alpaca, llama and sheep wool; and natural dyes weavers create useful textiles of great beauty.
