| Angkor Thom encloses an area of nine square km, and may have held a population of over 100,000 living in tiled or thatched houses. It dates to around 1200. It enclosed the royal palace and several major temples.
While Angkor Wat is Hindu in inspiration, Angkor Thom is full of images of the Buddha. |
