Preah Khan, Siem Reap

Preah Khan is named after the sacred sword of the 9th century king, Jayavarman II.  Huge strangler fig and silk-cotton trees send out roots that intertwine with the tumbled stones.  The central temple is a labyrinth of halls and pavilions with dead ends, blocked passages, and collapsed masonry.
